Bode George, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has called on Nigerians to give President Bola Tinubu an additional year to tackle the country’s challenges and fulfill his promises.
During an interview on Arise Television, George stressed the importance of granting Tinubu, a first-time president, more time to implement his policies and gain the trust of the public.
Recognizing Tinubu’s lack of prior experience in the presidency, George drew a parallel with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who also needed time to adjust to his new role.
“While Tinubu has been involved with the APC, assuming a leadership position is a completely different task,” George stated. “We should allow him the opportunity to learn from the mistakes of the previous administration. Just as Obasanjo navigated his first year, let us extend the same courtesy to Tinubu.”
George expects Tinubu’s cabinet to promptly address past shortcomings, underscoring the significance of giving the president sufficient time to bring about meaningful change.
