The PDP leader declared, “I can go anyplace with my green passport and my credibility and merit.
Bode George, a former PDP deputy national chairman, claims that it is his intrinsic right to live anywhere he chooses in the globe.
George, who spoke on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, suggested he might go to Nigeria’s West African neighbours Ghana, Cotonou in the Benin Republic, or Lome in Togo if he wasn’t happy with Bola Tinubu’s election as president.
Former Lagos State governor and PDP head Bola Tinubu’s longstanding opponent had threatened to leave the country if the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate won the February 25 presidential election.
When asked on Monday if he still entertained ideas of leaving the country, George responded, “I didn’t disguise my feelings: I stated if this person (Tinubu) becomes the President, I would lose my interest politically.
“I am entitled to reside anywhere I like as a Nigerian. I’m prepared to leave partisan politics, and I’m stating it in the open. They lack the competence to govern this country, in my opinion, and this is my personal conviction.
“I’m not as young as I once was. I have the right to move and live anywhere I choose for the rest of my life, playing with my kids and grandkids, if I’m not happy with the way things are going.
The PDP leader claimed that while young people disturb him, he is not worried about himself. He expressed regret that President Muhammadu Buhari did not keep his pledge to leave a legacy of free and fair elections, claiming that the electoral umpire did not electronically translate the results of the February 25 election as promised.
“I haven’t done anything wrong that might get me banned. I’m able to move to Lome. Cotonou is accessible to me. I can visit Ghana. even travel to Iceland. Everywhere is accessible to me. I can live wherever thanks to my green passport, my reputation, and my merit. Simply put, the younger generation bothers me, he declared.
