Controversial internet personality Bobrisky alleges injuries after being removed from an Amsterdam-bound flight by immigration officers. Read more about the incident and ensuing claims.

Social media influencer Okuneye Idris, widely recognized as Bobrisky, was forcibly taken off a KLM flight headed for Amsterdam late Thursday night and detained by immigration officials while attempting to leave Nigeria.

In an Instagram post, Bobrisky shared with his followers about the incident and disclosed that he was injured during a clash with immigration officers.

He claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was responsible for his detention, stating, “Nigerians help me; EFCC just arrested me. I’m seriously injured.”

On October 22, Bobrisky was reportedly intercepted at the Sèmè border while attempting to leave the country.

The controversy involving Bobrisky started in April 2024, when the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced him to six months in prison for abusing naira.

Though Bobrisky was formally incarcerated at Kirikiri Prison, later reports claimed that he spent just three weeks there before being subtly relocated to a private setting.

The situation intensified in late September 2024 after social media influencer VeryDarkMan shared an audio recording purportedly involving Bobrisky.

In the leaked recording, Bobrisky allegedly stated that music artist Falz and his father, human rights lawyer Femi Falana, approached him during his imprisonment to request ₦10 million in exchange for securing a presidential pardon.

In response, Falana and Falz sent a cease-and-desist letter on October 16, 2024, requesting a retraction and public apology for what they referred to as defamatory statements.

Bobrisky, on the other hand, refuted these allegations, asserting he was not responsible for the leaked information and urging the Falanas to hold VeryDarkMan accountable instead.
