The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) has announced that Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, will be housed in the male section of the facility for the duration of his six-month imprisonment.
Bobrisky was sentenced to jail by the Federal High Court in Lagos after pleading guilty to a four-count charge of naira mutilation. Despite being asked to clarify his gender status in court, Bobrisky maintained that he is a man.
As a result, the NCS has decided to place him in the section designated for male inmates.
The NCS assures that Bobrisky need not worry about any potential sexual assault from other male inmates, as they will provide him with protection.
