The suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner, or REC, in Adamawa State, Yunusa Hudu Ari, has not been seen since Friday, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

When he pronounced Aisha Binani of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the winner of the Adamawa supplemental gubernatorial election last Saturday, Ari sparked a significant uproar.

Even though INEC had not yet finished compiling the results, Ari had already pronounced Binani the winner of the supplemental election.

After the results were counted, however, INEC overruled Ari’s claim and declared Ahmadu Fintri the election’s victor.

Festus Okoye, the INEC spokesman, said that Ari had not returned his calls following the heinous deed.

On Channels Television, Okoye stated: “We don’t know where he is since the Commission wrote and contacted him following this specific occurrence.

“He never answered any of the calls, and he never gave any of the calls a return call.

We requested that he appear before the Commission on Sunday, but we did not see him. On Monday, we again did not see him. So far, he has not reported, and we are unaware of his location.
