Binance has appealed to the Nigerian government for the release of Gambaryan, expressing a strong desire to reach an amicable settlement.

On Tuesday, Binance Holdings Limited conveyed their willingness to “resolve any purported past matter” with the Nigerian Government.

The cryptocurrency trading platform implored the Nigerian Government to set free Tigran Gambaryan, who has been detained.

Gambaryan faced allegations of money laundering and was arraigned at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday.

Gambaryan was not provided with a wheelchair upon arrival, and instead had to use crutches to enter the court while visibly experiencing pain and distress.

On the grounds of medical reasons and claimed limited access for trial preparations, a new bail application was submitted by his legal representatives.

The application for bail was opposed by the EFCC (Economic and Financial Crimes Commission).

During Monday’s proceedings, the Nigerian Government denied Gambaryan a wheelchair, and this decision was strongly criticized by the company.

The spokesperson from Binance provided a statement to OBASANJONEWS, stating that a circulated video depicts Tigran being subjected to mistreatment and suffering. The judge ruled in favor of Tigran using a wheelchair during the bail hearing on September 4th. Binance has issued an official statement regarding this matter which we are sharing now.

The video of Tigran in court yesterday has caused great distress. It only captures a momentary glimpse into his current reality, which is characterized by rapidly deteriorating health. We harbor grave anxieties about the lasting impact of this wrongful imprisonment on him.

It is unnecessary for Nigeria to hold onto Tigran as a means of resolving any supposed previous problems. We urge the Nigerian Government to permit Tigran’s return and allow our interactions to proceed seamlessly.

The recent agreements with Brazil and India serve as an example of how constructive communication and adherence to legal norms can effectively tackle historical problems. This approach conforms to the global framework for conducting transactions.
