Nigerian artist Asake has surpassed Burna Boy’s record on the Billboard charts, marking a major achievement in his music career and further solidifying his status in the global music scene.
Asake, the Nigerian vocalist also known as Ahmed Ololade, has outdone fellow countryman Burna Boy by having the highest number of tracks featured on Billboard’s U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart.
This week, Asake extended his number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart to 50 by debuting nine new songs from his album “Lungu Boy.”
At the moment, his tune “Active” which features American rapper Travis Scott is occupying the highest position on the music chart.
The U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart was introduced on the Billboard in April 2022.
Nigerian artists have dominated it since its launch.
