According to Dangote, it is anticipated that the withdrawal of the fuel subsidy will improve Nigeria’s financial situation.
President Bola Tinubu has received congratulations from Nigerian business magnate Aliko Dangote and Bill Gates, co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, for eliminating the fuel subsidy and other recent accomplishments by the new administration.
Dangote revealed this in a conversation with State House reporters following the pair’s Monday meeting with the President in his office.
Businessmen predict that the elimination of gasoline subsidies will improve the nation’s financial capacities, allowing it to invest in other sectors like education and foster citizen growth.
The business tycoon added that the courtesy visit was intended to express congratulations and provide the President an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Bill Gates and Aliko Dangote Foundations as they press the President for additional commitments, particularly with regard to improving the country’s health sector.
He added that Nigerians “should expect more” because they have been receiving a lot. Everything is fantastic and running smoothly.
For his part, the President vowed to prioritize Nigerians’ health and safety, highlighting how vital it is for any nation to advance that its workforce, in particular, is healthy.
The President promised that his administration will take all necessary steps to ensure the success of their work in Nigeria and throughout Africa, particularly in the fight to eradicate diseases like polio, measles, malaria, and other contagious illnesses.
Gates “has all it takes to help developing nations more,” the President claims.
Tinubu has continued to invite well-known people to Aso Rock after his inauguration.
He had a meeting with Sunil Mittal, the chairman of Bhanti Artel Worldwide, earlier today. Segun Ogunsanya, the chief executive officer of Airtel Nigeria, and other board members were also there.
Additionally, Geoffrey Praytt, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources, and Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, attended a meeting with Tinubu.
