A poll reveals that a significant portion of Americans want Biden to resign now, showcasing prevailing public sentiment.

A Rasmussen Reports survey indicates that a significant number of American voters believe it is appropriate for US President Joe Biden to step down from his position at present, although the majority approves of his choice not to contend in future elections.

On Friday, a survey revealed that 52% of those surveyed believe Biden should step down before his term is over. Additionally, the poll indicated that 76% approved of his choice to withdraw from the race.

Biden’s decision to end his campaign was disapproved by just 18% of the respondents who took part in the poll. This survey encompassed a total of 1,074 registered voters and had been conducted between July 22 to July 24.

As soon as Biden made it known that he was dropping out of the race, GOP lawmakers in Congress wasted no time to publicly urge him to vacate the White House before his tenure ends.

Earlier this month, House Speaker Mike Johnson asserted that if Biden is unqualified to seek presidency, then he is also incapable of fulfilling the role of president; henceforth mandating his immediate resignation from office.

Republican Congresswoman Nancy Mace wrote that the person lacking mental acuity and cognitive ability to run a political campaign, but able to continue as president for six more months, should resign.

These remarks were echoed by Senator Rick Scott, who previously served as the governor of Florida.

Scott stated, “It is important to note that if Joe Biden isn’t eligible for re-election, then he cannot adequately fulfill his duties as president in the coming six months and should step down from office immediately. Although we are happy about one of America’s most harmful presidents not receiving a second term, it doesn’t alter much concerning the importance of this election.”

On July 21, Biden declared that he would no longer pursue a reelection bid. This decision was prompted by mounting apprehension among Democrats and contributors regarding his deteriorating health and capacity to triumph over Donald Trump in November’s election. Particularly following his catastrophic showing against the Republican candidate during their debate, Biden eventually acknowledged that terminating his campaign was vital given the immense importance of this election season. Initially resistant to stepping down from running for office, he ultimately recognized it as necessary due to the circumstances at hand.

After his exit, Biden put forth Vice President Kamala Harris as the next in line. Despite gaining the backing of both Clintons and Obamas thus far, recent polls show that she trails behind former US president.
