“My administration has worked to strengthen ties between the United States and Nigeria, and I look forward to continuing this collaboration with President Tinubu to support economic growth, advance security, and promote respect for human rights.”

US President Joe Biden congratulated Nigerian President Bola Tinubu on his inauguration and expressed his eagerness to collaborate with the new Nigerian government.

Biden stated that Nigeria and the United States have strong connections that trace back many years, and he expressed a desire to strengthen those ties.

“On behalf of the people of the United States, I send warm wishes to the government and people of Nigeria as they inaugurate a new president,” Biden said in a statement posted to the White House website on Monday.

“My administration has worked to strengthen ties between the United States and Nigeria, and I look forward to continuing this collaboration with President Tinubu to support economic growth, advance security, and promote respect for human rights.”

According to him, the ties between the two nations “run particularly deep” and have been fostered by a large Nigerian diaspora in the United States.

“As we continue to strengthen our partnership with Nigeria, I look forward to deriving even more inspiration and vitality from this dynamic connection between our nations. As the largest democracy and economy in Africa, Nigeria’s success is the success of the entire globe,” the US leader added.

“Elected leaders owe it to their constituents to demonstrate that democracy can meet their requirements. And the United States will continue to work closely with Nigeria as a friend and ally to bring about a more tranquil and prosperous future for our global community.”

The US President had sent a delegation to Tinubu’s inauguration a week earlier.
