APGA National Chairman, Ezeokenwa, confirms Bianca Ojukwu’s loyalty to the party, stating her ministerial role doesn’t affect her membership status.
Sly Ezeokenwa, the Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), stated that Bianca Ojukwu continues to be a member of the party even after her appointment as a minister by President Bola Tinubu.
Bianca Ojukwu is among the new ministers appointed by President Bola Tinubu during his cabinet reshuffle in October.
Despite not being a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu’s widow was appointed as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Ezeokenwa, whose leadership of APGA was affirmed by the Supreme Court that day, confirmed that Bianca Ojukwu remains with APGA.
Ezeokenwa stated, “I reached out to the president and praised him for that appointment. Bianca is a member of APGA, serving as a BoT member up to now; she has not left her membership in the party. She received that appointment while being part of the party.”

The chairman of the APGA mentioned that the party gave Ojukwu approval to accept the ministerial position.
He mentioned that the president’s actions aligned with his long-standing advocacy for allowing opposition party members to have opportunities to serve in Tinubu’s government.
He said, “My first call to the president was to emphasize that now, with your election victory confirmed by the Supreme Court as President of Nigeria, it is time to unify. Those who can help you fulfill your manifesto are not exclusively within your party; there are skilled professionals in other political parties too.”
Ezeokenwa stated that despite being a leader of an opposition party, he genuinely hopes for President Tinubu’s success because the well-being of Nigerians is his top priority.
The APGA leader asserted that Ojukwu’s appointment as a minister is advantageous for the opposition party, which he stated is prepared to participate in an inclusive government.
In the ruling affirming Ezeokenwa as the legitimate chairman of APGA on Wednesday, the Supreme Court also imposed a N20 million penalty on Edozie Njoku for filing an unfounded lawsuit at the FCT High Court in Bwari.
