After being detained and interrogated on Thursday, Simon Ekpa, a well-known pro-Biafra separatist activist, was freed by Finnish police hours later, according to HS.
Ekpa was led by Finnish policeman out of his Lahti apartment earlier in the day.
The police apparently detained him for a suspected offence, and he was later freed.
Ekpa was released on Thursday, according to confirmation from the Finnish Central Criminal Police.

According to the police, the arrest of Ekpa was related to the ongoing preliminary investigation.
“The person being questioned today is believed to have committed a crime. We will go back to the title on Friday,” Central Criminal Police officer Tommi Reen informed HS over the phone.
Ekpa, a self-described follower of Indigenous People of Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu, had frequently urged residents of the region’s South-East to observe a sit-at-home protest and abstain from the nation’s federal elections scheduled for Saturday.
