Biafra Day: Do not permit political foes to transform Enugu into a crisis theater – IPOB to Mba
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has urged Enugu State Governor Peter Mba to prevent his adversaries from turning the state into a theater of conflict.
IPOB pledged to make Enugu State difficult for him if he allows his adversaries transform the state into a theatre of crisis.
The IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, issued the appeal while condemning the incarceration of several individuals during the Biafra Day celebration in Enugu State.
The following is an excerpt from a statement issued by Powerful: “We are reminding the new governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mba, to keep his eyes open so that the Nigerian government, through his political adversaries, does not transform the placid state of Enugu into a theater of crisis.
“If he allows his adversaries to use him against IPOB, we will make it difficult for him to administer Enugu State.
“We, the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership and command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, condemn the Nigerian military’s attack on peaceful IPOB members holding a candlelight service for the commemoration of Biafra heroes and heroines in Emene, Enugu State, on the night of May 29, 2023.
“On the 29th and 30th of May, 2023, Biafrans convened on various continents to honor our fallen heroes and heroines without harassment, but only in the menagerie called Nigeria were our people attacked, abducted, and murdered.
“The Biafrans were peaceful and praying when the gathering was invaded by the overzealous Nigerian military.”
