According to the PDP leader, the president must effectively manage the nation’s resources and its population.
Bode George, a former deputy national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), claims that while President Bola Tinubu’s first years in office have not been without flaws, they have been somewhat better than the five years he spent as governor of Lagos State from May 1999 to May 2007.
George said while Tinubu is a key player in the All Progressives Congress (APC), he is not the president’s nemesis. He made these remarks on Tuesday’s Politics Today show on Channels Television.
“His management style, which is different from mine, is the main difference between Bola and I. My background is in the military, where I work as a logistician. The PDP chairman stated, “You don’t go your guys to battle without doing your serious planning and information collecting effectively.
When questioned about his opinion of Tinubu’s administration in the three weeks since the President took office on May 29, 2023, George responded, “It’s not a 100-meter race. Tinubu is responsible for overseeing both his workforce and the nation’s resources in order to improve both. He is only beginning.
The Lagos-based PDP stalwart responded, “It’s not perfect but reasonable,” when asked to elaborate on Tinubu’s performance over the past 22 days as Nigeria’s President. At the very least, that is better than what we previously knew about him when he was in Lagos. Although Lagos is not Abuja right now, it may be because he was lot younger and had less experience before.
When asked to join forces for the benefit of the nation by the President, George, a septuagenarian and lifelong foe of Tinubu in politics in Lagos, said he would seek PDP approval first.
He did, however, express confidence that his party and Atiku Abubakar, its candidate in the election of February 25, will triumph in the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal in Abuja.
“Let’s wait to see how the court rules. The work is not done yet. We will only be able to fight on the day the election is completed and the court declares him the new president, he said.
