Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue State recently declared the reopening of nursing schools in the state during a thanksgiving mass held in his honor at St. Gabriel’s Parish, Iorkighir, Tse Agberagba, in Konshisha LGA.
He emphasized that these nursing schools will undergo upgrades to degree and higher institutional levels to facilitate the acquisition of more knowledge in the medical and health field.
Governor Alia also mentioned plans to reestablish and modernize community health organizations to provide support to hospitals for the efficient delivery of medical services.
Furthermore, he assured that the government would ensure that these institutions are affordable and almost free for qualified citizens seeking enrollment.

Expressing concern over the lack of health facilities in the state leading to preventable deaths, Governor Alia called for global health donors to collaborate with the Benue State government in revitalizing the health sector.
He encouraged women engaged in small-scale businesses and farmers to either register with or establish various cooperatives to benefit from the government’s existing schemes.
Governor Hyacinth Alia also highlighted his administration’s commitment to promoting science and technology, particularly in the Jechira axis, by enhancing current trends in sciences through sponsorships for training and practical applications.
Lastly, he reiterated his administration’s dedication to addressing security challenges and urged all citizens to safeguard their communities by promptly reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.
