Aondona Dajoh, the Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, sent greetings to Muslims nationwide on the occasion of the Eid ul-Maulud celebration.
In a statement he issued on Wednesday, the Speaker prayed for Muslims.
The message said: “I am offering my best Eid wishes to you today on behalf of myself, my family, and the 10rh Assembly. I wish you the happiest and most tranquil holidays.
“May God accept all your good deeds and grant you forgiveness for all your transgressions. I wish you luck and grace in anything you do.
Congratulations on the Great Prophet Muhammad’s (peace and blessings be upon him) birthday. We should strive to stay on the straight and narrow, which is the road Allah has blessed.
“As you celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed, keep in mind that our beloved nation needs your prayers and support as we work to combat insecurity and foster growth.
“Remember, following the law and supporting the government are civic duties you owe to the state. I implore you all to do everything in your power as citizens to protect the government’s meagre efforts to raise our level of living.
“May this day bring you everything your heart desires, and know that as a House, we will continue to craft solid legislation for the state’s well-being.”
