Samuel Ortom, the governor of Benue State, said that he has been hurt by the killings of Benue State residents by herdsmen since 2015.
When he visited the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Abagena on Sunday, he levelled the accusation against those who had recently been the targets of herdsmen attacks.
At the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Makurdi, some of the casualties who were admitted to the hospital are being treated.
According to Obasanjonews24, a group of alleged herdsmen attacked the camp last Friday, killing one person and injuring several others.
The governor consoled several people, including an elderly woman named Esther Num who had a gunshot wound to her waist, a 14-year-old named Emberga Ukpoor who had her hand severed, and Terna Ikyaan who had also been injured in the belly.
Kwaghve Terkimbi, 14, whose ear was cut off, Agber Ikyume, Regina Gbashaor, and Eunice Iyua, all of whom were hurt in different ways, were also victims.
“This has been my pain; since 2015, I have cried out loud, insisting that the Federal Government is complicit in terrorism, raising Fulanis in Niger from Futa Jalon (Senegal), Cameroon, Mauritania, Libya, and other parts of the world to come to Nigeria and take it and make it their country,” Ortom lamented.
“The fact that these people’s motivations were not concealed and are now known causes me the most pain.” They are being guarded by the federal government.

“I have repeatedly demanded the arrest of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore leadership. I wrote the Presidency a letter. They are resolute despite my letters to the DSS and the police. These people are known; it’s not that they are unknown.
The Governor claims that whenever the Federal Government decides to put an end to these terrorist attacks against our citizens, that will be it. But right now, they are involved. They are collaborating with them to promote the invasion of this nation and the establishment of the Fulani nation.
