The All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, in the two voting units at the Benue State Government House in Makurdi, the state’s capital, on Saturday.
Engr. Titus Uba, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) nominee for governor and the chosen candidate of Ortom, faces up against Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.

Although Alia, a suspended Catholic priest received 130 votes, Titus Uba won 43 votes in the Arts theatre polling unit 011, government house.
Similar results were seen in Protocol polling unit 022, where the APC candidate received 36 votes while the PDP received 10.
One of the seven governors that lost their bids for the Senate in the recently completed presidential and National Assembly elections is Governor Ortom, whose second term is scheduled to end in May 2023.
