Benue: Former local government chairman was kidnapped and “killed”
Elder Washima Erukaa, a former local government chairman in Benue State, was reportedly slain by his captors after being kidnapped on September 23 from his Zakibiam home in the Ukum Local Government area of the state.
Elder Washima previously chaired the state’s Ukum Local Government region and Katsina Ala Local Government district.
According to a family member who was deemed trustworthy by The Nation, the abductors told them that Erukaa, who is eighty years old, had passed away and been buried.
Anene Catherine, a police spokesman, asserted that she was unaware of the development.
“At this time, I don’t have any information,” she stated. When I hear of any updates, I’ll let you know.
More information to come.
