The APC NWC has dismissed the Benue state party executives. Find out what led to this significant change in party leadership.
On Wednesday, the All Progressives Congress’ National Working Committee (NWC) dismissed the Benue State party leadership.
Despite the Benue State High Court’s order prohibiting the NWC from dissolving Augustine Agada-led working committee, the executives were still dismissed by the party.
At the national secretariat of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, who serves as its chairman on a national level declared that he had dissolved and simultaneously appointed a seven-member caretaker committee.
Benjamin Omale serves as the chairman of the caretaker committee alongside Prof. Ben Angwe who acts as its secretary and other members including Richard Mzungweve, James Omguga, Terhemen Ngbea, Helen Agaigbe, and Ali Adah.
Ganduje declared that the National Working Committee will not permit factions, counter-factions, litigations and counter-litigations to persist in the state – all of which have been problematic.

In adherence to the principle of unity as an essential aspect of our party institution, we have resolved to address the problem by abiding with our constitution. Consequently, today marks a dissolution of the Executive Committee by the National Working Committee.
Simultaneously, a seven-member Caretaker Committee has been endorsed by the National Working Committee to manage the party for half a year.
As you are running for a local government election, it is imperative to note that only the party has the authority to approve candidates. Henceforth, you have been entrusted with the task of organizing primary elections for potential chairmen and councillors in their respective areas.
Our plea to you is to unify and maintain a discourse with significant stakeholders, thereby connecting all parties involved in order for collaborative efforts.
