Former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene and address the actions of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bello expressed his concern after EFCC operatives raided his residence in Abuja, in an attempt to arrest him.
He urged Tinubu to caution the agency for disregarding a valid court order and causing him embarrassment.

Bello’s Media Office released a statement stating that the EFCC’s actions were in direct violation of a court order issued on February 9, 2024, by the Kogi State High Court.
The court order prohibited the EFCC from harassing, arresting, detaining, or prosecuting Bello until the substantive fundamental rights enforcement action had been heard and determined.
Despite being served with the court order, the EFCC proceeded with the arrest, prompting Bello to seek Tinubu’s intervention.
