At the Defence House in Abuja on Tuesday, President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu hosted former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in advance of Monday’s inauguration.

This was revealed by Tinubu via his official Twitter account.

The new president claimed that he and Tony Blair had a constructive conversation about topics of interest.

“Earlier today, in the Defence House in Abuja, I met Mr. Tony Blair, the former British prime minister and founder of the Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance. We addressed topics of common interest as well as how Nigeria may keep gaining from the outstanding work of the Institute, he stated.

The Vice President-elect Kasim Shettima and Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila were in attendance during Blair’s visit.

The Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance is an organisation that Blair founded.

The day of Tinubu’s inauguration is set for May 29.

A list of delegates that will attend the event in Abuja has been released by US President Joe Biden.
