Demonstrating his skill and influence, the former Southampton player delivered an assist to Patrik Schick, who secured a dramatic last-minute victory for Leverkusen at the Bay Arena.
The match began with Maximillian Beier scoring the opening goal for Hoffenheim in the first half, taking advantage of a pass from Wout Weghorst to find the back of the net from close range.
Despite trailing at halftime, Leverkusen’s coach Xabi Alonso made four strategic substitutions, including bringing on Tella, in an effort to turn the tide of the game.
