Thirteen people were listed as wanted by the Bayelsa State Police Command Force on Thursday due to a suspected threat to the peace in Yenagoa, the state capital.
According to a statement from the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Musa Mohammed, the 13 defendants are guilty of holding a youth election that put the state’s peace in jeopardy.
According to information acquired by Obasanjonews.com, the police had earlier issued a notice ordering a suspension of all connected activities leading up to the Epie Atissa Youth Council Election.
The police added, “We also learned that the youths continued with the election despite our and the state government’s warnings.”
The individuals identified by the directive were Daniel D. Daniel, Tavie Clement, Daniel Kiebo Johnbull, Koffi Osomewo, Kalime Odede, and Yaviekume Super Japhet.

“INTERNAL SECURITY: SUSPENSION OF EPIE ATISSA YOUTH COUNCIL ELECTION AND RELATED ACTIVITIES,” the message partially stated.
“It has been decided to halt the election and all associated activities due to the recent disturbances and the involvement of unauthorised individuals in the Epie Atissa Youth Council Election.” The social harmony that exists in Yenagoa now is in jeopardy due to the drive by different interest groups for several election locations.
“The state capital will not allow the actions of misbehaving youths who are incapable of coming to a straightforward understanding through civil processes to jeopardise its security and peace.”
As a result, until further notice, all procedures pertaining to the Epie Atissa Youth Council Election are suspended. Anybody found to be disturbing or violating the quiet will face consequences.
“To ensure the continued safety and harmony of our community, the Command therefore urges all parties to maintain composure and abide by this directive.”
