Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi Guber results would be sent electronically – INEC chairman
The results for the governorship elections in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi will be posted on INEC’s Result Viewing Portal (IReV), according to Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, INEC’s chairman.
In a conversation with reporters at Ward 009, LEA School, Ganaja Village, Ajaokuta LGA, Kogi, Yakubu made this claim.
In advance of the Nov. 11 governorship election, Yakubu went in the state to observe the mock accreditation exercise.
According to him, the commission will compile the results of the state elections in accordance with the legislation of accreditation.
“We are performing this mock because the technique is as specified by law, which includes electronic accreditation and electronic upload of findings on the IREV portal.
Therefore, please ignore any information that was reported regarding what the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) allegedly said in Bayelsa.
“That will be the process, and I’ll advise you as well for those who are registered on the IREV portal because of that.
“Go to the IREV portal in around two hours to check the outcome of the simulated certification from all three states.
As in prior elections, we are uploading, Yakubu declared.
Yakubu stated that the commission was already collaborating with security authorities on the topic of security concerns prior to the polls in the three states.
The National Security Adviser and I will co-chair a high-level meeting in Abuja on Friday of the next week when all of the security chiefs will be present to discuss security-related issues.
“We are on top of the situation in terms of security arrangement and security deployment for the three states elections,” he added.
Yakubu stated that INEC was taking proactive steps to ensure that voters had a positive voting experience on Election Day when asked about how it planned to manage the crowd at PU 009 in Ganaja.
With 13,000 registered voters, he said that INEC chose the PU 009, LEA School, Ganaja Village because it is the biggest and densestly populated in all of Nigeria.
He stated that in order to speed up voting on election day, the voter roll would be organised alphabetically by voter surnames.

“The Commission will transfer the voters to further approximate areas after the election.
But for the time being, we’ll have to hold the elections using the number of registered voters in this polling location.
In order to facilitate voter accreditation, he stated, “we are deploying a minimum of eight BVAS machines on election day, Saturday, Nov. 11.”
Yakubu named flooding as one of the difficulties facing the PU.
In event of flooding during the election, he said that INEC had already made plans to use the Family Support Programme (FSP) Nursery, Primary, and UBE JSS, Gadumo-Lokoja as backup voting locations.
“If there is flooding before the election, we’ll remove the ad hoc personnel from here and transfer them to this polling place at first light on Saturday.
But we prefer to use this location as a super-RAC where we can put the ad hoc personnel up for the night, he added.
After that, Yakubu met with commission staff members at INEC State headquarters in Lokoja.
He explained that the purpose of the visit was to interrogate the employees about their planning, what had been completed, and what was still unfinished.
The intention, according to Yakubu, is to determine the state’s readiness for the Nov. 11 election. He also mentioned that similar visits would be made to Imo and Bayelsa states.
“The commission has sent over non-sensitive information for the election, so far so good.
The task now is for you to start organising the materials and patching them at the state level.
“Each polling place has a knapsack that the presiding officer will carry with assistance from the system presiding officer.
“I observed that some of the supplies had already been bundled into the bags in Koton-Karfi. “I hope that all local government areas will be uniform throughout,” stated Yakubu.
In a previous statement, Dr. Gabriel Longpet, the INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Kogi, stated that all non-sensitive election materials had been received and transferred to the LGAs.
“We have received 60% of our funding and have begun paying out to LGAs so they can begin the necessary actions.
“We would like to request that the Central Bank be directed to give us our cash directly to avoid delays and problems with transportation and RAC activation,” he stated.
Longpet claimed that specifics of potential flash points in the state had been located and would form the foundation for the deployment of security.(NAN)
