George Sibo, a member of one of the major parties in Bayelsa State, was slain at the collation facility in the Twon-Brass, Brass local government area.
The late ‘Kobo-Kobo’ was a deputy to Hanson Alabo-Karika, the chairman of the Brass Local Government.
An Twon-Brass native who was married and had kids was attacked when thugs broke into the collation facility.
Witnesses claimed that the dead was killed at the Collation Centre during the submission of results for a few wards within the constituency.
Representative for Brass Constituency I, Dr. Daniel Charles, responded to the tragedy by expressing his regret over the “gruesome murder of a vibrant and hardworking young man by desperate power seekers.”
He asked security personnel to apprehend and prosecute the heinous act’s perpetrators right away.
When reached, CSP Asinim Butswat, the police spokesman for Bayelsa state, stated he was still seeking information from the Police Area Commander of Brass.
The suspicion that its representatives were being held captive in Brass was first voiced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
