Security personnel in Bayelsa State have detained two party supervisors who are purported members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant development in the ongoing gubernatorial race, according to a report in the Sun newspaper.
While purportedly trying to bribe voters with an astounding ₦95 million in cash, the suspects were captured.
The APC party supervisors carrying significant amounts of cash were apprehended by alert security personnel at two polling places in the State’s Ogbia Local Government Area after receiving a tip.
The electoral process’s legitimacy is seriously threatened by preliminary indications that the suspects were covertly giving money to prospective voters.
