Bauchi Governor Appoints New Emir of Ningi

The Governor of Bauchi State has appointed a new Emir of Ningi, marking a significant leadership change in the region. Find out more about the new Emir.

The appointment of Haruna Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi has been sanctioned by Bala Mohammed, Governor of Bauchi State.

The firstborn son of the late Yunusa Muhammad Danyaya, who passed away at 88 years old, has become the new Emir of Ningi.

Comrade Mukhtar Gidado, Governor Mohammed’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, communicated the declaration via a statement.

The decision has been made by utilizing the authority granted under Cap. 24 Item 3 (1) of Bauchi State of Nigeria’s regulations on Appointment and Deposition of Emirs/Chiefs in 1991, as well as taking into account the input from kingmakers’ recommendation.

Barr İbrahim Mohammed Kashim, the Secretary to the Bauchi State Government, signed a letter communicating the appointment.

Governor Mohammed conveyed his trust in the capacity of the recently appointed Emirs to uphold his late father’s legacy by fostering harmony, tranquility and progress not just within their emirates but also throughout Bauchi State.

The statement added that the traditional institutions in Bauchi State play a significant role in maintaining peace and progress in our communities, and therefore Governor Bala Mohammed’s leadership will continue to support them.

The Governor, Mohammed, offered his prayers for the late Emir’s soul to rest in peace. Furthermore, he expressed warm felicitations and wished good health, long life and success for the new First Class Emir who assumed office recently. The statement concluded on this note.

Remembering that Yunusa Muhammadu Danyaya passed away on Sunday, August 25th, 2024 and was laid to rest the same day in accordance with Islamic customs. During his burial ceremony, State Governor Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir publicly announced that the late Emir had expressed a desire for his successor to be chosen from within the Royal family.
