Following a quadriceps injury on Saturday, Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele might miss his team’s Europa League match against Manchester United.
Dembele was taken off after 25 minutes of the Spanish league leaders’ 1-0 win at Girona in La Liga. Later on Saturday, the team released a statement saying that Dembele had hurt himself.
According to Spanish reports, the French winger might be out for three to four weeks.
After league contests against Real Betis, Sevilla, and Villarreal, as well as a Copa del Rey semifinal the following week, Barcelona welcomes the English team to Camp Nou on February 16.
Since Xavi Hernandez became coach in November 2021, Dembele, 25, has been in the best shape of his Barcelona career. This is his first injury since that time.
The forward experienced a succession of injury problems following his 2017 transfer from Borussia Dortmund for 105 million euros ($114 million) plus add-ons, which prevented him from progressing at Barcelona.
