Making Nigeria a better place is a shared responsibility, according to the Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary (NBTS), Ogbomoso.

This was said by the organization’s president, Rev. Stephen Ayankeye, on Tuesday in Ogbomoso at a press conference regarding the upcoming 2023 NBTS Ministers’ Conference, which is slated to take place from September 11 to September 14.

According to Ayankeye, the conference’s subject, “Vessel for Honour,” was appropriate given the circumstances and difficulties that Nigeria is currently facing.

He stated that gospel ministers should influence spiritual renewal in individuals and encourage them to fear God.

He claims that the conference will assist gospel ministers in being more prepared and inspired for godly life and fruitful ministry.

According to Ayankeye, the conference’s continuing education component would aid in keeping gospel pastors’ academic and professional expertise current.

According to him, doing so would help them develop their ministry abilities and give them the chance to network and advance within their denomination.

“Participating in the evolution of society is everyone’s responsibility.

If the gospel, which is God’s power for redemption, is handled by well-molded vessels, this will be achievable and speedier.

“We urge everyone in government, including those in political office, to live in thanksgiving to God for allowing us to hold peaceful elections in Nigeria.

“The populace should regularly pray for our leaders as well as follow the law.

“Time has come when all should work hard to make Nigeria great again in all ramifications,” he declared.

The conference, according to Ayankeye, will serve as a transitional ministers’ event as Prof. Emiola Nihinlola, the organization’s departing president, would be stepping down on Tuesday, September 12. Nihinlola had served as president for ten years as of June 30.

“Due to this, the Nigerian Baptist Convention has nominated me to begin serving as the Seminary President on July 1, 2023.

“Key programme personnel including Reverend Israel Akanji, the President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention, and a guest to the Seminary, Reverend Victor Adebayo-Dada, will be present at the conference, which will be held in the NBTS Alumni Multipurpose Hall.

We anticipate the active involvement of all types of gospel ministers, including evangelists and missionaries as well as church pastors and specialists in music, education, children, and youth.

Rev. Simon Ishola, the chairman of the NTBS conference planning committee, also spoke during the event and noted that sufficient security measures had been taken to assure the safety of all conference attendees’ lives and property.

He further stated that teams of security personnel from the Police, State Security Service, and Federal Road Safety Corps would also be there to uphold law and order in addition to the seminary security apparatus.
