Six people were shot and killed in Dansadau town, Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State, by gunmen who are thought to be bandits.

During a phone conversation with Obasanjo news24, a town resident who requested to remain anonymous reported that the bandits arrived in large numbers on Tuesday about 2:00 pm on motorcycles.

He added that four persons suffered varying degrees of injuries as a result of the bandits’ intermittent firing along Dansadau Motor Park and Main Market.

Six of our people were tragically slaughtered by the bandits when we fled for our life when we noticed the terrorists were closing quickly. At our general hospital, four persons who suffered severe gunshot wounds are currently receiving treatment,” he stated.

According to Obasanjo news24, Dansadau District in Maru LGA is presently inaccessible and has a long history of being a bandit colony.

Asp Yazeed Abubakar, the spokesman for the Zamfara State Police Command, was not reachable at the time this report was filed, thus news reporters’ attempts to get in touch with him were unsuccessful.
