On Monday, suspected bandits attacked Gandu, a neighbourhood in Nasarawa State close to the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), capturing a number of locals and injuring others.
A community source who spoke with Obasanjo News24 on Tuesday morning verified the event and revealed that the bandits attacked on Monday night at approximately 7:00 p.m.
Many of the victims of the attackers’ injuries have since been taken to a local hospital in need of immediate care.

Barely three weeks have passed since one individual in the same neighbourhood lost their life in an earlier attack.
Following the last incident, the state government promised to bolster security on and around the university’s campuses.
The state government has stated that it will build security outposts and supply vehicles for security officers to police the region, according to Obasanjo News24.
In addition, the government promised to set up checkpoints both inside and outside the building.
