Bandits raid Sokoto Village, killing four people, and kidnapping 18
According to the police, their agents are on the trail of the attackers and working to guarantee that the affected neighbourhood and surroundings return to normalcy.
Four people were confirmed deceased in a banditry attack in the eastern senatorial district of Sokoto State’s Giyawa village, Goronyo Local Government Area.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Ahmed Rufai, the command’s public relations officer, told Channels Television that the attackers who stole livestock and other items first kidnapped 18 people.
However, he said that seven of the kidnapped people later broke free and returned to the neighbourhood where they had been taken captive.
Although other local media stated that over thirty people had been kidnapped, the police insisted that only eleven people were still with the assailants.
According to the security service, its officials are pursuing the attackers and working to bring the impacted neighbourhood and its surroundings back to normal.
