Yahuza Alhassan, a resident of Jere, informed OBASANJONEWS24 correspondent that the tragic incident took place around 9:33 p.m. in Dogon-Fili, located just a few kilometers away from Jere town.
According to Alhassan, the victim, Danladi Jobe, was on his way back from a local market when the bandits ambushed his vehicle, resulting in his immediate death.
Alhassan identified one of the kidnapped individuals as Shuaibu, a farmer, who was robbed of approximately N1 million in cash by the criminals.
Following the fatal attack on the driver, the bandits targeted Shuaibu, seized N980,000 from him, and then forcibly took him and another passenger into the nearby bush.
Reports indicate that a similar incident occurred recently when suspected bandits attacked a Hiace bus near Gadan-Malam on the Abuja-Kaduna expressway, abducting passengers.
Despite attempts to reach out to the Kaduna state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansur Hassan, for comments on the matter, there has been no response to calls or messages sent at the time of compiling this report.
