Twelve villagers and seven police officers were slain by bandits on Thursday during an attack on a community in Zamfara State.
Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, the state’s commissioner of police, confirmed the attack and stated that the death happened in Magarya village within the Zurmi Local Government Area.
He continued by saying that four villagers and a member of the Zamfara State Community Guards, also known as Askarawan Zamfara, were among the dead.

According to the CP, the about 300 bandits assaulted the area on motorbikes, surrounded “our men, and opened fire on them, thereby killing seven of them and injuring several others.”
The bandits were not pleased with our guys for stopping them for more than two years from committing their horrible deed.
He declared, “The bandits could not have a chance to attack the village since the police were deployed to the area.”
More police officers would be sent to the area, according to the police commissioner.
