According to a statement from the head of public affairs at Al Qalam University in Katsina, two female students from the university have been kidnapped by bandits.
The parents of the students have confirmed the abduction, which occurred on Monday. The university has provided limited information about the circumstances of the abduction as it took place outside the campus.
In a special bulletin, the vice chancellor, Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri, expressed solidarity with the students’ families and prayed for their safe release.
The students were abducted while traveling from Niger State to Katsina State to resume their academic activities at the university. They were among the passengers in a commercial vehicle when the incident occurred.
