Bandits have abducted group of 55 people who were escorting bride to her matrimonial home in Katsina
A terrorist group is reported to have abducted at least 55 individuals while they were accompanying a bride in Damari town, located in the Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
While security agencies have not yet officially confirmed the incident, a resident disclosed during a phone call with Channels Television on Friday that the abduction took place on Thursday at approximately 8:00 pm.
Tragically, three security volunteers lost their lives while attempting to rescue the victims. The resident further mentioned that prior to the attack, the victims, who were primarily friends of the bride, numbered over 70, with several managing to escape.
Sabuwa, in addition to its agricultural significance, is also one of the frontline local government areas dealing with the challenges posed by bandits and their collaborators, particularly individuals who provide information to the bandits.
