Bandits Attack Katsina General Hospital, Injure Doctor, Kidnap Staff

A general hospital in Katsina State comes under attack by bandits, leaving a doctor injured and several staff members kidnapped, escalating security concerns in the region.

Tragedy unfolded at the General Hospital in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State when bandits launched a violent assault, shooting a medical doctor and kidnapping multiple staff members.

The attack, which took place around 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, incited panic among the hospital staff and patients as the bandits invaded the premises, firing randomly.

Dr. Murtala Sale Dandashire, an esteemed alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, was shot in the leg while caring for patients.

According to an anonymous resident, Dr. Dandashire is alive and undergoing treatment at a confidential medical facility.

Renowned for his exceptional performance, the doctor graduated as the top student in ABU’s Class of 2019, receiving 13 awards for his academic accomplishments.

Sadiq Abubakar, the spokesperson for Katsina State Police Command, confirmed the incident and announced that investigations are underway to uncover details and capture those responsible.
