A tragic incident in an Abuja community as bandits storm the area, killing a man and abducting his wife and children. The attack has heightened fears and security concerns among residents.

Mr Felix Chuks was killed and his entire family abducted when suspected bandits invaded Zone A (Back of Primary School) in Ushafa community, Federal Capital Territory on Thursday night.

Around midnight, there was a violent infiltration of the area by gunmen who unleashed intense gunfire.

The locals report that attempts to contact the vigilantes during the attack were unsuccessful because they were not answering their phones, likely due to the intense shooting of the bandits.

There is no clear explanation for why the man was murdered, but it has been speculated that he may have resisted against the bandits.

According to a source from AFRIPOST, the bandits arrived in the vicinity at midnight under cover of darkness while everyone was sleeping. It appears that the man did not comply with their demands, resulting in his murder.

The rear portion of Ushafa’s Primary School has developed a bad reputation due to a spate of violent incidents, the latest being just a few months ago. This time, marauders attacked the vicinity and murdered one individual while abducting his wife – who was pregnant at that time- along with their children.

Remember that there have been no arrests made since the last kidnapping.

Despite several attempts to contact SP Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for FCT police, her mobile line remained consistently occupied.

At the time of writing this report, a community meeting at Ushafa has been expanded and is currently in progress.

To deal with the ongoing situation, an urgent meeting was summoned.
