According to Nigeria Peace Advocates (NPA), a nonpartisan organisation, the military’s ferocity against terrorists and robbers in the North East and North West is driving them to desperate measures.
This was said in a statement released on Sunday in Abuja by the group’s secretary, Mr. Bernard Udu.
Udu urged Nigerians to keep up their support and prayers for the country’s armed forces.
He claimed that the military, led by Gen. Christopher Musa, the Chief of Defence Staff, has proven capable of protecting the nation from threats to international peace.
According to him, bandits and terrorists in the two geopolitical zones were already feeling the heat from the country’s stepped-up military operations, which was the reason for their plight.
He added that the military has shown an unflinching devotion to duty in the recent deaths of several warriors who paid the ultimate price while defending against terrorist attacks in Niger.
No matter how desperate they are, Nigerians support Gen. Musa and the Armed Forces of Nigeria wholeheartedly.
“We must support our military as they continue to give their lives to preserve the peace and stability of our nation. Those whose acts are detrimental to peace and progress must not be catered to.
“NPA, again, extends its sincere sympathies to the CDS, the AFN, and the families of the fallen servicemen.
Nigerians support you and hold out faith that there will soon be light at the end of the darkness, he continued. (NAN)
