The organizers of the Ballon d’Or have revealed three main criteria for determining the prestigious award’s winner: individual performance, team success, and fair play. These factors will guide the decision in choosing the best footballer of the year.
France Football, the organization behind the Ballon d’Or, has outlined the criteria they consider when selecting award winners.
This was shared on their official X account on Friday night.
The primary criterion is “Individual performances that are both decisive and impressive.”
Secondly, they will evaluate “the performances and achievements of the team.”
The final criterion is “class and fair play.”
In September, a list of 30 nominees was announced.
The list features Vinicius Junior, considered the favorite to win the prize this year, along with Rodri, Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Bukayo Saka.
The winner will be announced at a ceremony on October 28.
