Yakubu Dogara, a former House of Representatives speaker, voiced confidence in the ability of the state’s citizens to remove current Governor Bala Mohammed from office.
Shortly after casting his ballot at his Gwarangah Primary School Polling Unit 07 on Saturday, Dogara revealed this in a conversation with reporters in his village of Gwarangah, Bogoro Local Government Area of the state.
Dogara predicted that the voters in Bauchi State will remove the current governor when asked about his expectations for the election’s results.
So, let me just say that my assumption is that, as we have always done in Bauchi, no one will ever teach us how to free ourselves from the control of lousy governance, of which this (the state’s ruling People’s Democratic Party) is one.
“I anticipate a large turnout of the Bauchii populace to denounce Governor Bala Mohammed,” said the speaker.
Yet he claimed that vote buying had tainted the governorship and state assembly elections in Bauchi State.
Substantial vote buying is occurring in all of the state’s voting places, and we have informed the security personnel of the situation, the official stated.
According to the information we have, there is widespread vote buying in Darazo and Alkaleri. Similar circumstances are present in a few local governments in Bauchi’s north.
So that we may have a free and fair election, I trust the EFCC and security personnel can handle it.

“We want to establish a precedent that once we elect a governor and he is not delivering, we have no more than four years to find someone who does, someone whose priority is the workers, someone whose priority is the state economy, and someone whose priority is the transformation of the state,” said the group.
I don’t see Bauchi people supporting failure.
Dogara stated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Air Marshal Saddique Abubakar, who he is backing, will only accept the outcome of the Governorship Election in the state provided it is free and fair.
Dogara stated, “We are aware of the electoral process.
“After the election is fair and trustworthy, we shouldn’t have any issues.
Because the public eventually elects the winner, everyone should accept.
“We shall analyse the circumstance. If vote buying or intimidation are rampant, as was the case at one polling location in Tafawa Balewa, when thugs were brought in and the tyres of an INEC truck were even punctured, these actions will be taken seriously. A supporter of the governor’s is the man who brought the thug in.
Thus accepting the election’s result if it is tainted would be unwise.
“It would not be in accordance with popular desire, and it would not grant the government the right to rule.
“We want to create a situation in which the citizens of Bauchi choose their own leaders.
“I would tell my candidate to stand up, confront the malpractice, and fight for the Bauchi people till the stolen mandate is returned if the malpractice outweighed what we call decency in terms of election.”
