Former Niger State Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu has denied defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement issued in Minna and signed by Prince Innocent Kure, Aliyu called the rumours baseless and unfounded.

Such material is inaccurate and untrue, he claims, and the general public, especially PDP supporters, should dismiss it.

The former governor emphasised that he is still an authentic, engaged, devoted, and active PDP member both locally in Niger State and nationally.

But, the PDP veteran in Niger warned those spreading such untrue rumours to stop as he is steadfastly devoted to ensuring the victory of his party in the next state gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

Then he urged the populace of Niger to turn out in large numbers to support the PDP at all levels of the state’s upcoming elections.
