Dr. Richard Somiari, the Director of Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, disclosed that the results of the autopsy conducted on the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, would be available within the next three to four weeks during his testimony at a coroner’s inquest into the singer’s death.

- The witness, Dr. Somiari, faced cross-examination by the defense counsel during the inquest, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s passing, which occurred on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, as reported by Obasanjonews24.com.
- Following the controversies that arose after Mohbad’s death, the Lagos State Government initiated a coroner’s inquest to investigate the matter, with the proceedings commencing on October 13, 2023, at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court.
- Dr. Somiari informed the Coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, that the forensic team was diligently working to ascertain the cause of Mohbad’s death, exploring various possibilities including the involvement of poison due to the absence of a specific cause mentioned.
- Assuring the public of the integrity of the process, Dr. Somiari emphasized the security and monitoring measures in place to safeguard the samples and results of the autopsy, ensuring that there is a meticulous procedure for handling and transporting samples for further analysis if needed.
