When automobiles and laptops go missing, Adeleke gives former appointees 48 hours to restore state property.
The governor of Osun, Ademola Adeleke, has requested that any public property held by previous appointees be returned.
Olawale Rasheed, the governor’s spokesperson, gave a statement on Wednesday in which the order was given.
After dissolving all non-statutory bodies of ministries, departments, and agencies, and revoking the appointments of several former government officials, Adeleke issued the decree just hours earlier (MDAs).
Rasheed claims the governor warned that any impacted official who disobeys the order would suffer the consequences of the law.

The announcement states, “The Osun State Government has asked previously appointed officials to relinquish government properties in their
“The instruction came after high-ranking members of the previous administration diverted federal funds on a huge scale.
While official records show that two-thirds of former state officials left with a fleet of cars in their offices, many government vehicles have gone missing.
Most Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) had their operating resources—including cars, laptops, and even furniture—taken away. Some prominent officials’ homes were similarly pillaged, down to the lamp fixtures.
Any former official who disobeys the order will be subject to the full force of the law.
