Auto technician accused of pilfering three vehicles
Bebe Akapo, a 41-year-old mechanic, was charged with three counts of car theft on Tuesday at a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The offender, whose address is unknown, faces two counts of felony and theft and is awaiting trial.
But he entered a not guilty plea to the accusations.
The defendant committed the act on March 25 at No. 8 Wale Ajose Street, Abule Era, Ilogbo, Lagos, according to the prosecution, Inspector Edet Ekpe, who testified in court.

According to Ekpe, the defendant allegedly planned with other fugitives to steal three cars and commit other felonies.
“Mr. Bashir Qudus, Yusuf Ganiyu, and Yusuf Bashiru, the complainants, owned two Toyota Sienna space cars and one Toyota Camry car with registration numbers LSR 928 HE, KSF 497 EP, and SMK 373 FL,” the statement read.
Sections 411 and 287 of Lagos State’s 2015 Criminal Law were broken by the offence.
The defendant was granted bail in the amount of N1 million with three sureties in an equivalent amount by Chief Magistrate Mr. N A Layeni.
