In the state’s Mangu Local Government Area over a three-week period last month, 150 fatalities were officially reported.
In view of recent violent attacks, the people of Plateau State have been given guarantees by the acting Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Maj. Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, that peace and order will be restored in the state’s troublesome areas.

In separate visits to the Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos, the police chief and commander pledged to protect people’s lives and property. They also stated that they needed the support of the state’s government and populace to reestablish law and order in the affected areas.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang urged the security agencies to catch and prosecute the criminals who had been terrorising the state’s citizens but had evaded capture.
The IGP, who is also the Operation Safe Haven commander and the general officer commanding of the three division of the Nigerian Army, voiced concern over the state’s security condition.
They added that coordinated efforts were needed to find a long-term solution to the security concerns.
While evaluating the security measures put in place to stop the ongoing attacks and killings in several areas of Plateau, Egbetokun and Abubakar made the governor courtesies visits.
