Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has shed light on his significant role in bolstering the political career of President Bola Tinubu.
Abubakar emphasized that without his support during a critical juncture, Tinubu’s trajectory might have taken a different turn, potentially impacting his tenure as governor of Lagos State.
In response to claims suggesting that Tinubu came to his aid amid tensions with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Abubakar’s Media Adviser, Mr. Paul Ibe, clarified the narrative.
He highlighted Atiku’s instrumental support, rooted in his commitment to democracy and the rule of law, which played a significant role in navigating Tinubu’s political landscape.
Contrary to misconceptions, Atiku clarified that he did not contest under the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), but rather the Action Congress (AC), emerging from a coalition comprising the Advance Congress of Democrats (ACD) and Tinubu’s faction of the Alliance for Democracy (AD).
