Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, declined the invitation from Atiku Abubakar, his rival in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to join him in the ongoing conflict with President Bola Tinubu.

According to OBASANJO NEWS24, the former vice president encouraged Obi and Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian People’s Party, NNPP, to join his fight for justice during an international press conference on Thursday in Abuja.

Following the controversy over President Tinubu’s diploma, which Atiku received from Chicago State University, CSU, comes this.

Atiku made it apparent on Thursday that he intended to use the academic records provided by CSU as part of his litigation against the president in the Supreme Court. Atiku said that Tinubu faked the certificate he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.

In response to the appeal, Obi claimed he is now engaged trying to retrieve his stolen mandate before the Supreme Court in a statement released by the National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Obiora Ifoh.

“The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is currently in the Supreme Court seeking to reclaim his stolen mandate and he is focused on that,” the statement adds.

“He has been in the forefront of ensuring that Nigeria has the kind of leadership it needs, where justice must be the guiding principle.

“Obi has eloquently argued on numerous occasions that leaders should set positive examples and conduct admirable lives. He accomplished this by openly disclosing his credentials for inspection. When those with honesty and honour run Nigeria’s affairs, the country would improve.

“Therefore, we warmly invite any other interest to join us in our quest for a country where justice will reign.
