Atiku’s aide challenges the FG to provide the cost of the landing and pricing formula for petrol

The Federal Government has been dared to publish the landing cost of petrol as well as the pricing template being used by the government to keep the cost of petrol at less than N640 per litre by Phrank Shaibu, Special Assistant on Public Communication to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

This was said by Shaibu in response to a press release issued by Felix Morka, the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s national publicity secretary.

The government’s assertion that the petroleum industry had been deregulated was exposed as a fraud, he said, and subsidies were still being given out.

The Petroleum Industry Act requires complete deregulation of the petroleum industry, he continued. Price regulation is impossible under a deregulated system. If the APC is claiming that subsidies are not returning, they should explain how petrol is still being sold for less than N650 per litre while the price of crude oil is about $94 per barrel internationally and the I&E Window’s exchange rate is N780 to the dollar and N1,000 to the dollar on the black market.

Why does deregulated diesel presently cost about N1,000 per litre while petrol costs more than 25% less? Let the APC respond, and quit spreading falsehoods.

Shaibu claimed that by moving ahead and dismissing and imprisoning some of the former president Muhammadu Buhari’s appointments, the APC-led administration had repeatedly conceded failure.

“The same APC that praised Godwin Emefiele for eight years and misled Nigerians with propaganda and their so-called agricultural revolution has gone ahead and sacked the same Emefiele and detained him for four months,” he claimed.

“The same APC that claimed to have battled corruption has now taken the initiative to imprison Abdulrasheed Bawa, the man in command of the anti-corruption war, for four months. You can tell that these individuals are nothing more than outright frauds and cheats.

“Despite Tinubu’s claims that he wished to reduce the expense of government, he chose 48 ministers, 10 of them are from his region. However, the APC insists that he is in charge of a just government. This is absurd. Adams Oshiomhole acknowledged that Tinubu inherited a challenging situation last month. How can a maggot be critical of the fly that produced it?

The APC was urged by Atiku’s assistant to focus more on government rather than propaganda since Nigerians’ patience was running out.

“Wale Edun recently claimed that 10 years ago was the last time Nigeria’s economy flourished. That indicates an admission of the APC’s failure. Poverty has increased dramatically since that bloodthirsty group has been in power. Even the distinction of being Africa’s top oil producer has been lost by Nigeria. Shame on you,” Shaibu remarked.

Instead of making weak justifications, he claimed Tinubu should apologise to Nigerians for misleading them about a planned meeting with US President Joe Biden.

“So, the APC is now referring to a’meeting of Biden and Tinubu’ as a three-minute’meet and greet’ outside the G20 conference in India? Yes, this is shameful. The meeting would take place in New York, according to a statement from the Presidency, at the UNGA.

“It is clear that Tinubu and his hired writers were the only ones who knew about the alleged encounter. He didn’t even tell Nigerians where he was going when he departed the UNGA empty-handed and made his way to Paris. Such a joke.
